Hi, I'm Stef and I want to tell you about my submission for the 3C competition. I chose Manhattan to showcase my idea for streamlining disaster relief in high population density coastal cities.
My idea is a simple solution to a complicated problem: disaster relief can be difficult to administer in chaotic disaster times when people can become overwhelmed by their individual problems.
I propose to install permanent disaster relief stations which meld seamlessly with the icons and street art of the city. These stations are electricity, water, sewage, and data connections for HEB disaster relief trailer. The terminals include programmable Lighting to help direct the flow of people seeking relief in a disaster, and during less trying times can contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the city.
